Group Discussion - Integral Part


Group discussion is one of the most important round to qualify and get admission into any Best B- schools. GD is always an excellent tool used by the interviewer to analysis students attitute, communication skill, listening skills, interpersonal skills, whether a student has the ability to work in teams. Thus as an aspiring candidate you must know how to put forward critical comments, how to support or disagree with arguments, how to interrupt to ask question or make a point. Below are few Do's and Don'ts which  will suely help you to crack into MBA Colleges.

Do’s
o   The first and foremost thing in Group Discussion is “Be Aware”.
o   Think Differently.
o   Try to initiative.
o   Be creative.
o   Be assertive with polite.
o   Observe your body  language, like sit erect, never point fingers, etc
o   When you are putting your point say sentences like:

§  Sorry to interrupt
§  I partially agree with you
§  I am sorry but I don’t agree with your point
§  I totally agree with your point and want to add up
§  I want to conclude by saying

o   Listen carefully when others are putting up their points.
o   Give chance to other’s also
o   Be crisp and to the point.
o   Give facts and real world example to support your point.


Don’ts

o   The first and foremost thing is to know it’s not an argument.
o   Never lose the temper.
o   Don’t point out individually.
o   Do not mock anyones view point during the group discussion.
o   Don’t dominate others.
