Workshop on Cultural Competence and Evidence Based Practices in Mental Health Care in Diverse Societies

A Two-day state level workshop was conducted on Cultural Competence and Evidence Based Practices in Mental Health Care in Diverse Societies organised by Department of Psychology, Delhi-NCR campus on 16thand 17th August, 2019. Forty-three participants attended the workshop. The objective of the workshop was to sensitise the mental health professionals to approach mental health issues in a culturally relevant manner without losing its evidence base. Modules for the workshop are developed based on research conducted as part of the US-Indo 21st century knowledge initiative award in collaboration with MIAMI university (Oxford Ohio, USA) funded by USIEF. Allegiance to the Nation

Department of languages celebrated the 73rd independence day by remembering all who laid down their lives for freedom. ‘Allegiance to the Nation’ was celebrated with department of economics. The programme began with a short prayer, speeches by students on loyalty, patriotism, cleanliness. A poem was read in Hindi which was dedicated to the national flag. FREEZ FRAME & KAI PO CHE

The volunteers of the Centre for Social Action organised two events on 14 August 2019 to bring an official start to our volunteer body. After much discussion, a fancier version of dumb charades- Freeze Frame and the traditional game of kite flying were finalised. It was a quick decision followed by a brainstorming session and everything unfolded smoother than anticipated. The volunteers worked together as a team, shared responsibilities and made sure that everything was in place for the participants to enjoy both the events to the fullest. Thanks to the inspiration and motivation provided by the faculty members, we were able to accomplish so much from scratch within a short period of time. On the day of the occasion, things were well coordinated, the helping hand lent by our dear faculty members served as a support all along. Bookmark 2019

Christ Deemed to be University, Delhi-NCR conducted its first book exhibition, Bookmark 2019, on the 6th and 7th August 2019 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the college premises. The inaugural session occurred with the presence of the Chief Guest Dr. Youd Vir Singh (Head of Library and Documentation division – AIU), Dr. Denzil (Member of Legislative Assembly of UP), Fr. Viju (Director), Fr. Sunny (Administrator), Dr. Vinod Sharma (HOD - MBA) and Mr. Sreekumar Nair (Chief Librarian of Christ Deemed to be University). Faculty members and PG students were also present in the session. The inaugural session lasted for about an hour. It involved the invocation song and the lighting of the lamp, a welcome address by Mr. Jerush John Joseph followed by the Inaugural Address by the Director, Fr. Inauguration & Institutional Orientation of First Semester UG Programmes

The Academic Year 2019-2020 Inauguration for I Semester BBA/ BCom/ BA/BSc was organised on 1st July 2019 at 09:30 AM in the Basement Hall,BlockB. Session 2 on Institutional Orientation for these students was held on the same day from 11:15 amonwards in three parallel venues.
