Mr.Sumit
Kumar Singh organized an Industrial visit to the Indian Oil
Corporation Limited, Loni Plant, Ghazaiabad on 24 October 2019 as a part
of the curriculum for the Subject ‘Principles of Management’ as part of
their curriculum in School of Law. The visit was about the management
process of such a large network of Indian Oil Corporation, safety
measures and supply chain. Mr. Chandan Bishai (Chief Plant Manager,
IOCL, Loni), Mr. Samresh Kumar (Chief Manager, IOCL, Loni) and his team
had taken out precious time from their busy schedules and gave
presentation on fundamental and important aspects of Safety, Supply
chain and various functions of managerial work in their plants. They
also interacted with the students. Finally, our students visited the
different departments of IOCL, Loni, which gave them the opportunity to
experience and gain the knowledge about working of IOCL, Plant. The key
learnings were the following:
1. The importance of safety measures and caution.
2. The management of different levels of employees.
3. The maintenance of the supply chain right from the raw materials to the domestic usage.
4. The importance of sustainable development alternate power sources like solar energy.
Our
students have surely learned a great deal from this experience. This
Industrial visit was quite fruitful for the budding lawyers especially
for budding corporate lawyers and surely will help them a lot by giving
them great insights about work culture and working environment of an
organization specifically about a leading Public Sector Undertaking
organization.
