Christ Institute of Management, Delhi NCR campus is a perfect place to lessen down the gap between classroom and the corporate world. As “Christites” are not only limited to the books, they can easily differentiate between bookish concepts and real-time corporate experiences which makes them to understand professionalism in a better way.
            The office of Career Guidance and Placement of Christ Institute of Management, Delhi NCR had organised an event on 13th August, 2016, namely “Corporate Connect 2016”. Two events had taken place at seminar hall –   1) Quiz Competition, 2) Guest Lecture.
The events were organized by one of the best-selling business newspaper namely “Business Standard”. 
First event was a Quiz Competition and it was for half an hour. This was consisting of recent news covering FMCG sector, Market Trend, Media, Financial condition and current business scenario.
The Quiz consists of such kind of question for solving which knowledge is not the only way, you should also apply your mind and logic.So this is customary to say that this event was not only a competition, rather an enriched platform to make ourselves up to date and it was actually a brain storming.

Finally the result of that quiz competition was:
 
Sukriti Jacob, from second year, was the winner of Gold Medal.

Anugraha Sharma, from first year, was the winner of Silver Medal.
Dipankar Mitra, from third year, was the winner of Bronze Medal.
And as per the rules of the quiz the gold and silver medalists will represent the Christ Institute of Management-Delhi NCR at national level.
 
The victory is the nature of “Christ”.
This Quiz competition was followed by a lecture delivered to us by our invited guest lecturer     Mr. Rajiv Girhotra, DGM at business standard, and an alumni of “Faculty of Management Studies- Delhi”.

Mr. Rajiv has a huge experience in print media industry and from his experiences and learnings, he conveyed us the ‘Mantra’ of success and was the key of inspiration. He was the treasure island of various precious experiences. His personal story had inspired us greatly. The valuable lecture had racked our brain. He has shared current business condition of print media industry and e-commerce. He also shared the various opportunities available in the print media industry and guided all of us. After his lecture I am sure that many of the students have started to develop their interest towards this industry. The most important subject, he had shared with us, how to prepare ourselves for corporates. This section was really awesome and students must say that absentees really had missed a great part of their PGDM life.    

The overall session was really informative and after the lecture of Mr. Rajiv, it has broaden the horizon of knowledge for various students and they have an edge over others in terms of choosing their career in print media industry.
